Martin McKay, Executive Director of Regeneration; Clyde Gatewaymartin mckay resized

Martin’s involvement with Clyde Gateway began in 2006 with Scottish Enterprise where, along with the partner team, he was responsible for development of the Business Plan and Operating Plan.  Appointed as Senior Manager of Development in 2009, Martin was promoted to his current post in October 2013 to take a strategic and executive overview on the delivery of physical regeneration projects being undertaken by Clyde Gateway, including the recent completion of three major office developments totalling 200,000 sq ft.  Martin also oversees efforts to obtain further investment into the area, particularly from private sector partners and is leading on Shawfield, the largest commercial and industrial planning consent in Scotland.

Bringing over 20 years experience to the task, Martin, a Chartered Architect, has held board positions with Architecture & Design Scotland and is a past-President of the Glasgow Institute of Architects.

Ross Nimmo, Head of Planning & Development; Glasgow AirportRoss Nimmo resized

Ross Nimmo leads Glasgow Airport’s Planning and Development team which is responsible for strategic masterplanning, transport (including City Deal projects) and aerodrome safeguarding. Prior to working in the aviation industry, he worked for a major engineering consultancy and a local authority in the fields of infrastructure development and urban planning. Ross holds a BSc (Hons) in Town and Regional Planning and is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Academy of Urbanism.

Gordon is Chief Executive of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) based in Glasgow.  SPT is responsible for the delivery, development and provision of high quality sustainable transport choices for the West of Scotland in order to assist the growth of the Scottish economy and to enable all people who are living, working or visiting the West of Scotland to share in the benefits of this growth.

Gordon is an engineer by training and has worked in the private sector with Rolls Royce and Babcock and latterly as Director of Manufacturing for John Brown Engineering, Clydebank for 11 years until 1998.

He joined the public sector thereafter as Chief Executive of Business Ventures, a company set up to assist potential entrepreneurs, start new high growth businesses.

In 2001 Gordon joined Scottish Enterprise Glasgow as Senior Director of Business Growth where his responsibilities were for the growth of the economy by stimulating new investment in business and inward investment of new companies into Glasgow.  In October 2006 he joined SPT as Assistant Chief Executive (Operations) responsible for developing and enhancing the customer experience for those using public transport and to promote the use of public transport.  He was promoted to his current post in April 2010.

Gordon lives in Renfrewshire, Scotland.
