Simon Pollitt; Development & Acquisitions Director, The Student Housing CompanySimon-Pollitt

Simon Pollitt is the Development and Acquisition Director for Knightsbridge Student Housing. He has a degree in Property Development from The University of Portsmouth and has been a member of the Planning and Development Faculty of the RICS since 2006.

Simon joined Bob Crompton to set up Knightsbridge Student Housing in 2010 and has been responsible for acquiring and developing a student portfolio of just over 9,000 student beds across the UK.

Prior to Knightsbridge Student Housing, Simon acquired and developed mixed use schemes as a Development Management at Tiger Developments and Countryside Properties.


Rupert Wyard; Executive Director, Campus Development ManagementRupert Wyard

Campus Development Management is a market-leading student accommodation specialist with an unparalleled breadth and depth of knowledge spanning all aspects of the student accommodation industry.  Its spread is UK-wide and increasingly international.

Campus undertakes direct development as well as advisory mandates for a number of well-known private and university clients.

Having successfully completed the 492-bed Printworks scheme in Exeter in 2013, it is currently embarking on a new round of developments as well as supporting a number of well-known private and university clients.

Rupert is a Chartered Surveyor and was previously a partner of King Sturge. For the last 14 years he has been immersed in the student accommodation sector, initially as a Director at Unite and subsequently AQH Micklegate.

Since co-founding Campus Development Management in 2009, Rupert continues to undertake a cross-section of work including direct development with joint venture partners including Yelverton and Moorfield Group. Additionally, he is mandated to provide strategic, investment, development and operational advice to a number of well-known private and university clients.

He has previously spoken at UK and international events.

Tim Mitchell; Chief Executive Officer, GSA EuropeTim Mitchell

Tim Mitchell is a Chartered Surveyor with 23 years’ experience, including 14 years dedicated to the student accommodation sector.

Prior to the formation of GSA Group, Tim was Group Property Director at UNITE Group Plc, where he worked for over eight years. During this time the company’s portfolio increased from c.2,000 to over 38,000 beds. Tim was responsible for UNITE’s development pipeline outside London including acquisition, planning and construction; and also asset management activity associated with the group’s built portfolio.

Tim’s experience allows him to focus on major investment activity in the buisness, including fund raising and implementing investment, acquisition and development strategies. Since 2009 he been responsible for Real Estate strategy within GSA Group and in 2009 – 2010, Tim acted as Managing Director for the new Urbanest London business, leading the establishment of the team as it secured its initial round of pipeline transactions, including Hoxton, Tower Bridge, Kings Cross and Camden.

He is now responsible for leading the growth of GSA into Europe, including Dublin.


Sean McKeown; Commercial Director, Campus Living VillagesSean McKeown

Sean is a qualified lawyer in Australia with over 12 years experience in property, banking, construction, commercial and corporate law. He is responsible for all legal matters and development activities in the UK. As well as providing commercial and strategic input, Sean has been intricately involved in the assessment, negotiation and finalisation of transaction documents with CLV’s partner universities as well as finance documents with CLV’s debt providers.

Sean has worked closely with the other members of the CLV global development team in the UK, Australia and New Zealand to tender, purchase and build student accommodation in each country. He has also supported the US team in structuring their banking and debt facilities. Sean has led several projects for CLV including the recently completed University of Bedfordshire Student Accommodation project in the UK.

Prior to joining CLV in 2008 as Legal Counsel based in Sydney, Sean worked at Staunton Beattie, Dibbs Barker Gosling and Consolo Property Pty Limited in Sydney.
