The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham have acquired Londoneast-UK Business & Technical Park today as they drive forward their plans to regenerate the area. The purchase, which currently holds 42 SME firms employing around 500 staff, is said to be a ‘major milestone’ in the Council’s ambitions to transform the area – with an expansion of the business park set to be developed alongside a massive new film studio and a data centre creating thousands of new jobs.

It’s another major step forward in the bid to bring revolutionary and transformational growth across the Thames Estuary corridor – all set to be the focus of the Thames Estuary Development Conference where the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham are set to speak.

Cllr Darren Rodwell, Leader of the Council, said: “This is a brilliant regeneration opportunity that we are investing in on behalf of the borough. We aren’t coming in here to change things but we are coming to continue the development of this fantastic park.”

Ed Skeates, from the Council’s regeneration arm Be First, added: “This is a huge deal for Dagenham and its drive to become a media and digital powerhouse.”
