Developer Countryside Properties have had their proposal for the delivery of an addition 172 new homes within Ebbsfleet Garden City approved. The scheme, which forms part of its plans for the Ebbsfleet Garden City’s Springhead Park, will see the creation of new houses alongside additional amenities including an outdoor gym, park and allotments.

The project by Countryside Properties, who’ll be speaking about their development plans for the future at our Cambridge Conference in September, is already well established with its own children’s park and community centre, and the new approval will take the total number of homes built on the site to 799.

The new community village is set to be linked through a new bridge connecting Ebbsfleet International Station to the new residents, a scheme being undertaken by Ebbsfleet Development Corporation (EDC). Ian Piper, Chief Executive of the EDC, said: ”While this latest phase from Countryside complements the existing Springhead Park area it also represents a use of materials and detail which will provide a contemporary and good quality range of two, three and four-bedroom homes for Ebbsfleet Garden City.”

Iain McPherson, Regional Managing Director for Countryside Properties, said: ”Given our recent success in the community to date, we are looking forward to further establishing Countryside’s offering at Ebbsfleet Garden City, both with the launch of the final phase and our joint venture in Eastern Quarry. The area already boasts unrivalled transport networks nearby. The new bridge will allow our residents at Springhead Park to connect even more quickly to the station.”

The Eastern Quarry highlighted by McPherson will deliver an additional 2,600 homes to the region – with 5% of those being affordable to rent, and 20% for shared ownership.
