Who’s speaking on Friday 8th March 2019

We already have some exceptional industry leaders and experts confirmed to speak at March’s London Property Club conference. More speakers are being added all the time, so please keep an eye on this page.

Ann Bentley, Lead – Supply Chain and Business Models, Construction Leadership Council

Alongside her role at the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) Bentley is the current Chairman of Rider Levett Bucknall which employs more than 400 staff in the UK and 3,600 worldwide in over 40 countries. She is also a member of the CBI’s Construction Council, a visiting Professor in the Built Environment at Birmingham City University, and a lecturer in the School of Construction Management and Engineering at Reading University.

Ann will be sharing a keynote to kickstart the conference which will share details on the CLC’s objective to drive industry improvement – as they draw together business leaders from across the sector to identify how to promote solutions to meet the ambition of a 33% reduction in cost, and a 50% reduction in project time, carbon emissions and trade gap.

Andy Green, Co-Chair, Space Sector Council and President, UK Space Agency

Andy has spent the majority of his career working across the globe specifically within the Telecoms, IT and Technology sectors. He therefore has a unique perspective on the impact of the Digital Age will have on businesses across all industries. That wealth of experience has ensured that he is now a trusted advisor to companies and governments. His current roles include Chairman of the IG Group, Chairman of Digital Catapult, Co-Chair of the Space Leadership Council and President of UK Space Agency.

He’ll be speaking primarily in his capacity at the Space Sector Council and UK Space Agency who’re responsible for all strategic decisions on the UK civil space programme. They provide a clear and single voice for UK space ambitions and are therefore at the forefront of ongoing and future strategic visions for the sector.

Julian McGougan, Executive Director – Telecoms, Spectrum and Satellite, techUK

Julian joined the techUK team having worked for Arqiva previously, running the policy team responsible for relations with regulators, politicians and Whitehall. His experience prior to includes working for the BBC where his role as the Digital Police Adviser saw him work on the launch teams for Freeview and Digital UK. A spell in the Treasury preceded this, helping to privatise a whole range of public companies and working on a couple of Budgets.

techUK represents the companies and technologies that are defining today the world the world that we will live in tomorrow. Julian’s role fits in directly with the ambitions of the UK Space Sector and he’ll be joining us to talk about how techUK will be working to grow the sector by helping to develop the market, develop relationships and networks, reduce business costs and reduce business risk.

Stephen Attenborough, Commercial Director, Virgin Galactic

Stephen joined Virgin Galactic in 2004, as the companies first full-time employee, from major investment firm Gartmore Investment Management. In his time at Gartsmore he performed a number of management and senior management activities for more than 15 years with his focuses primarily on the company’s relationship with sophisticated institutional and high net work clients and prospective clients.

At Virgin Galactic he has the responsibility of laying the commercial foundations and framework for the organization, including spearheading ongoing sales, business development, marketing, public relations, licensing, partnerships and customer retention. Virgin Galactic are set to be a major player in commercial space flights and they’ll be sharing their vision which will see them having to work closely with others in the sector to make it a success.

Antony Slumbers, Commercial Director, Virgin Galactic

Antony has a wealth of experience. Having been a software development and technology strategist in commercial rest estate since 1995 he now consults and works with real estate boards on Transformation, Technology and Innovation. A member of the Leadership Board of CRETech he has achieved various accolades including finishing 7th in Duke Long’s Top 10 Most Influential Online Commercial Real Estate People 2019 and 3rd in Lendinvest’s Proptech Power List 2017.

He is also a regular international speaker – which is the capacity he’ll be joining us in for the London Property Club event – where he’ll be speaking about how technology is redefining how we work, shop and live, and the opportunities and threats of a changing world. His talk will help you maximise your upside whilst minimising your downside.
