This free to attend online event will delve into the innovative solutions and technologies which are acting as a catalyst for dramatic change in the masterplanning process, whilst also looking at best practice within the sector. Focusing on the West of England Combined Authority region, where there are a plethora of exciting major development projects being brought forward, our panel will share their insights into the future of place design using real lift examples of schemes that will be coming to fruition in the coming years.

Approaches to regeneration are evolving at a rapid pace. As technology becomes embedded in the planning, design and delivery process the need for local authorities and developers to keep pace intensifies.

As part of this interactive event our delegates will hear from the built environment pioneers reflect on what ingredients are critical to successful master planning and the impending affect tech will have in helping streamline collaboration, decision making and development delivery across the UK.

  • Bath and North Somerset Council – Simon is an experienced town planner who is skilled in sustainable development policy implementation and is responsible for leading Bath and North East Somerset’s place design. With developers set to deliver hundreds of millions of pounds worth of schemes in the coming years, he is an integral part in making it happen and joins the event to talk about the council’s approach to masterplanning.
  • Barefoot Architects – Based in Bristol and with a real understanding of the entire South West landscape, Barefoot Architects are market leaders in participatory co-design processes particularly in the realm of housing. They have delivered schemes ranging from £100k to £10m spanning Devon up to Bristol and will join the event to share some thought leadership on how design and planning might evolve in the coming years.
  • Varsity Town Planning – Experienced in leading multi-disciplinary consultant teams, managing complex planning projects holding a long-term vision whilst identifying short-term opportunities, finding sustainable solutions, Pippa is one of the South West’s most forward-thinking experts on planning challenges. She joins the event to detail some of the projects she is working on and how Varsity are taking innovative approaches to masterplanning.
