A new partnership between High Street Residential and Logik Developments is set to unlock a £100m residential tower in Manchester.

High Street Residential has taken a stake in Logik Development’s Arundel Street PRS scheme – and their assistance with funding, planning, design and development of the project could see the project start in mid-2020. Logik (backed by former cricketer Andrew Flintoff) acquired the site back in 2017.

Details for the development include:

  • 355-unit scheme
  • 1.2-acre site [emaillocker id=”71749″]
  • Three main blocks of up to 23-storeys
  • PRS led residential schemes
  • Mixture of one, two and three bedroom apartments
  • Rooftop gardens
  • Space for commercial, retail and leisure

The scheme achieved planning approval from Manchester City Council last year – and it’s expected that now the partnership is in place demolition and preparation work will begin. They’re also on the hunt for a main contractor with conversations ongoing.

High Street Residential – who’re speaking at our Birmingham Development Plans Event next week – are excited to be working on the project. Chairman Gary Forrest said: “Manchester is a thriving city with a growing number of high-tech and media businesses and the demand for housing in the area has increased significantly. More than 19% of people prefer to rent and that figure is expected to rise rapidly in the future. We aim to meet this demand, by delivering high-quality living spaces in town and city centres.”

Neil Spencer, managing director of Logik Developments, said: “We are really pleased to be entering into this JV partnership. High Street Residential is an expert in private rented sector (PRS) development and we are looking forward to bringing the delivery of this major scheme forward as a team. We have been in talks for some time and are hopefully looking to extend this relationship across further development opportunities.  Arundel Street is a key site for Logik, with the capacity to create outstanding homes in a prominent city centre location.”

The planner for the development is Deloitte and SimpsonHaugh designed the scheme.
