Huddersfield SKA Developments Kirklees

Plans to transform one of the biggest town centres in Huddersfield via a £250m regeneration programme have this week taken a major step forward – after the first major scheme received the thumbs up from Kirklees Council.

The project, being brought forward by SKA Developments, will see the transformation of the former Co-op department store building, with the addition of three extra storeys, creating a 134-bed student accommodation unit. [emaillocker id=”71749″]

The plans will help kickstart the wider £250m plans for Huddersfield all designed to transform the town, and they’ll be revealing more at the High Streets Development Conference later this year. (Click here for details >)

Construction, now that the green light has been given, will start in the coming weeks. Zeb Pervaiz, Director of SKA Developments said: “This project represents an extremely important chapter in the redevelopment of the town centre. This scheme, along with our plans for the Greater Waterfront Quarter, show our ambition as a developer and represent the next phase in the growth of our business. We’re currently exploring additional opportunities around the UK, including in South Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland.”
