MEPC, who’re set to speak at the West Yorkshire Development Conference in June, can be incredibly proud of the scheme – which is now becoming a hotspot for companies moving into the city and wider regeneration around the site – and a new independent study has praised the scheme, highlighting a £200m GVA contribution to the Yorkshire economy.

The site boasts:

  • 800,000+ sq ft of office and leisure space
  • Bars, restuarants and shops
  • Gyms
  • Public space
  • 5,000 employees in the site, expected to rise to 12,000

The area is attracting some of the biggest firms from across the UK, with companies like Sky Betting & Gaming calling MEPC’s Wellington Place their home – and the boundaries of Leeds West End is starting to expand, and this will see additional investment and interest in the area. Impressively, once complete, one in ten jobs in Leeds city centre will be based in this strategically placed location – just minutes walk from the city centre train station.

MEPC will be represented at the West Yorkshire Development Conference by Paul Pavia, Head of Development. You can register for the event here >

Speaking of the success the Chief Executive of MEPC, James Dipple, said: “Right from the offset, we were committed to creating something incredibly special in the centre of Leeds, a people first development that was designed in such a way that it actively encourages its own culture and community. We’ve been true to our word as the development has expanded, retaining outdoor spaces, being sustainbly minded and looking after our customers. We’re now halfway through our masterplan and the results of our hard work and commitment to our belifers has delivered something we can all be extremely proud of.”

He added: “The social and economic impact report helps to quantify everything we have achieved to date and it’s an honour to share this with the people that have helped us to get to where we are today. We’re looking forward to even more success in the future as Wellington Place continues to grow and support Leeds’ ambition of being the most prominent city in the north.”
