Munroe K White Rose Office Park ADP Leeds Council City Landsec Plans

There is a real excitement about the city of Leeds at present. The news of C4’s arrival has only boosted the already thriving Yorkshire city which has plans to ‘double the size of the city centre’ – plans being realised by Leeds City Council who’re backing ambitious transformation projects including Vastint’s Tetley’s project and CEG’s Kirkstall Forge development. The arrival of HS2 and the regeneration that will bring is only increasing the buzz – and another major project could soon be coming to fruition to the South of the City.

Munroe K, who’re set to speak at the Leeds Development Plans Event in January, are one of the companies involved in major plans for a programme of investment and redevelopment which could see the mixed-use extension of a Leeds office park – which already houses more than 5,000 workers. It’s thought the proposed plans could boost the regional economy and drive £1bn of development and investment into the city over the next ten years.

The incredible project will bring together White Rose Office Park owner Munroe K and Leeds City Council, who’re also set to speak at the Leeds Development Plans Event, with Landsec – the owner of White Rose Shopping Centre – and Schroders – owner of Millshaw Industrial Estate. The plans would:

  • Be integrated into community infrastructure – including new primary school
  • Link to the new White Rose railway station set for the area
  • Create additional office and commercial space
  • Residential uses and related retail, leisure and amenity
  • New connectivity through public transport, cycle and pedestrian facilities and social infrastructure
  • Hotel
  • A&E facility and doctors’ surgery

The site already houses some of the biggest companies and brands working within Leeds including Capita, HSBC, HMRC, WSP and West Yorkshire Police.

Leeds City Council said the site could become a booming 21st century mixed-use destination and hub ”which is genuinely part of the community as well as a key node in the city and city region economy.”

David Aspin, Found of Munroe K and speaker at the Leeds Development Plans Event, said: ”The White Rose Train Station acts as a catalyst for new development and will give rise to a much needed area of economic growth, bringing new life and vibrancy. Residential, offices, hotel, a new primary schools, doctors’ surgery, an A&E facility and many other uses will be included, all focused on technology and the environment. It will be a totally pedestrianised area with no cars. The development will be sustainable and safe and well served by road, bus and rail providing residents and users with a unique work life environment.”

A planning application is likely to be submitted by the end of 2018 or beginning of 2019 – and David will be able to share the ambition and vision for the scheme at the Leeds Development Plans Event on the 28th January.
