Sladen Unity Square Nottingham Estates Peveril Securities Planning Office

Approval has been secured on a major office development in Nottingham as the City Council give the scheme the green light. The development, which will see the creation of 700,000 sq ft of office space, has secured permission after an environmental impact assessment scoping request.

Sladen Estates, who’ll be speaking about their Midlands schemes at our Midlands Development Plans Conference, are behind the Unity Square scheme alongside Peveril Securities. The development will see 387,500 sq ft of office space over 10 storeys, with the second phase delivering 312,000 sq ft of office space over 14 storeys.

The site is at the heart of Nottingham’s burgeoning regeneration zone and Nick Sladen of Sladen Estates said: ”Nottingham has made a strong economic recovery, but the challenge it faces is that the downturn halted new development. It is left with a shortage of Grade A office space. We know the demand for space is out there, but professional occupiers looking for room to grow in the right location are struggling to find suitable accommodation in the city.”

He added: ”Sladen Estates and Peveril have an intimate knowledge of the local market and national development and contracting expertise so we jointly have the scale, expertise and resources to make the most of the opportunity that Unity Square now presents.”

A full planning application for the development is now set to be submitted
