South Kesteven District Council, who are set to speak at our Lincolnshire Development Plans Conference, have begun the final round of public consultation on their new Local Plan – which is set to shape the future vision of the South Kesteven area.

The proposed plans, which will be sent to the Secretary of State for final agreement, highlights the development of more than 15,000 new homes by 2036. The prosed housing requirement would see 625 homes built per year – slightly lower than the 785 homes per year which the Government had originally proposed. With the Local Plan being reviewed every five years its possible that the minimum amount of homes being built per year could increase further into the 2036 plan.

The Local Plan has gone through several extensive consultation periods already whilst being altered due to the 800 written responses they received.

South Kesteven District Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Development, Cllr Mike King, said: ”The majority of new housing development is earmarked for Grantham, including the Garden Village, but we’re also proposing significant housing areas on the north side of Stamford and the east side of Market Deeping.”

Join us to hear more about the potential development sites at the Lincolnshire Development Plans Conference on the 4th July.
