The University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) has driven incredibly growth across South Yorkshire, attracting global brands including McLaren Automotive and Boeing to the region, and they’ve now made a major new step with confirmation of a new facility in Lancashire.[emaillocker id=”71749″]

Set to be developed at Samlesbury Aerospace Enterprise Zone then £20m build has been given the green light by South Ribble Borough Council and Ribble Valley Borough Council which is seen as a massive boost for the regional economy. The Samlesbury site is one of four identified development zones making up the Lancashire Enterprise Zones.

Details of the new AMRC development include:

  • New 4,500m² facility
  • Focus on vehicle electrification, battery assembly and lightweight technologies
  • Built with capital funding provided through Lancashire Enterprise Partnership’s Growth Deal
