Venture Property Lincoln Ltd are moving ahead with their development plans to bring new housing to Lincoln. The site, formerly housing the Birchwood pub and cabaret venue, is set to be turned into flats after a unique way of raising funds.

Ryan Carruthers, Director of Venture Property Lincoln Ltd and speakers at our Lincolnshire Development Plans Conference next month, decided to use a crowdfunding page to raise £35,000 of investment for the scheme – which was used to purchase the derelict land which has seen the former pub and venue demolished back in 2013.

The project will see almost 40 homes being built – which will be within two three-storey buildings each containing 19 apartments. The new builds would face away from Birchwood Avenue and house a total of 30 one-bedroom homes apartments and eight two-bedroom apartments.

Ryan Carruthers said: ”The pub has been demolished for some time and the land is in dire need of development. One of the great things about property is you can create a lasting legacy. Crowdfunding is a new experience for us, which helps us to establish our brand and build relationships with new investors.”

Property Venture Lincoln has managed a range of different residential and commercial developments within the City, including the conversion of a pub on High Street to apartments.
