Hylands London Waltham Forest Housing

A regeneration project in Waltham Forest has been given then thumbs up – with existing housing set to be demolition.

The Council led scheme will see 120 new homes being built – knocking down the council homes currently at the Hylands Road site. The buildings will range between four and nine-storeys in height and they will all be fitted out with solar panels to deliver a more sustainable and green housing estate. [emaillocker id=”71749″]

It’s one of a number of projects being undertaken across the region – something Waltham Forest Council will delve further into at the TFL Development & Economic Growth Conference – as the borough continues with a major development and regeneration programme.

Currently the site houses two-storey council housing, which are “in a poor state of repair” as well as a derelict community centre.

Council documents stated the development’s landscaping strategy incorporated habitats to “increase the existing biodiversity of the site” and a financial contribution had been secured towards “mitigation measures” to protect the nearby Epping Forest Special Area of Conservation.

The council says it will consult with Natural England before submitting planned measures to mitigate the environmental impact of the development in due course.

To meet the Waltham Forest team, and hear about developments set to happen across the region, then come to the TFL Development & Economic Growth Conference to find out more >
