Alan’s specialism and passion for “mixed use” began as Development Director for the award-winning Brindleyplace scheme which became a catalyst for the multi-million pound canalside regeneration in Birmingham city centre. Alan’s ambition and vision escalated after he teamed up with Mark Billingham in the late 1990s to purchase the former Royal Mail sorting office and adjoining derelict canalside properties. The Mailbox was the result of the conversion of more than one million square feet of space creating prime residential, retail and leisure space which attracted key household brands into the city for the first time, including Harvey Nichols, Armani, BBC and Virgin. The final phase of The Mailbox project before the sale of the scheme (to Brockton Capital) in 2011, was the construction of The Cube, an iconic development designed by Ken Shuttleworth of “Gherkin’ fame. Chatham Billingham’s latest project is the redevelopment of the former Birmingham Post and Mail printing works of which Phase 1, a state-of-the-art car park, is due to open to the public later this year. Phase 2 of the development will be office and residential use. Chatham Billingham have also diversified into a wide range of business investments. + Google Calendar+ iCal Export Birmingham Development Plans 2015 | Details Tickets You must have JavaScript activated to purchase tickets.
