London Property Club: London’s New Strategic Plan

The Mayor of London and Greater London Authority recently released a new ‘London Plan’, the overall strategic plan for London, setting out an integrated economic, environmental, transport and social framework for the development of London over the next 20–25 years. The plan will have a wide ranging impact on growth and development in London, dealing with factors including transport strategy, economic development, housing, the environment and a framework for the use of land.

This webinar will explore what the plan means for London, the impact it will have on the property sector and how it will encourage growth and development while working towards the capital’s zero-carbon target.

  • Greater London Authority – Rob is part of the team behind the new London Plan and will provide a detailed explanation of the development of the plan and ideas behind its key aspects including: the proposals for 52,000 new homes per year, a target of 50% of new homes to be genuinely affordable, the 47 opportunity areas for development, how the GLA will support London’s recovery from Covid19 and the need for all new major developments to meet a net-zero carbon standard.
  • Future of London – Nicola is CEO of Future of London, an independent network supporting housing, planning and regeneration professionals through leadership, research and networks. She leads on strategy, business development and partnerships. Nicola is passionate about the role of the built environment to improve lives and address inequality. At Design Council and CABE she led national programmes to support the public and private sectors to plan and deliver well designed buildings and spaces.
