Cardiff Council – Ken Poole, Head of Economic Development Cardiff Council approves new partnership with Wates Living that could see 1,700 homes delivered over the next 9 years and plans to develop the city by 2036. Ken Poole, Head of Economic Development joins the event to talk about how social infrastructure which supports active, healthier and smarter living will play an integral part to any adopted plan. With over £1bn of projects in the immediate pipeline, Ken will also touch on how the public and private sector can collaborate to expedite inclusive economic growth delivery. Taff Housing Association – Helen White, Chief Executive Officer Taff Housing association manages over 1,500 homes across Cardiff. Recently gaining £25 million in funding, which will be used to fund a development programme targeting, 325 new homes by 2025/26. Helen will be joining the session to share intel on housing needs of the region, new development plans and challenges of redevelopment. Welsh Government – Lee Waters MS, Deputy Minister for Climate Change Lee is responsible for all clean growth and housing initiatives in Welsh Government including directing the housing related activities of local authorities and housing associations, the allocation of social and affordable housing, supply and quality of affordable housing and matters related to the private rented sector. He will talk about the recently announced £1bn social housing development fund and the £537m first round of funding for property decarbonisation across Wales while also touching on other Welsh government related regeneration policy. Built Environment Networking – Amanda Griffiths, Director Amanda is one of the Co-Founder’s of Built Environment Networking – formed almost 10 years ago. She’ll be hosting throughout the day, running the days proceedings and managing the interaction between our delegates and the speakers. Robertson Property Ltd – Nick Harris, Group Executive Property Director Robertson Group have exciting plans to revitalise Cardiff with their plans for the regeneration of Atlantic Wharf being submitted by the consortium announced earlier this year as the successful bidder to be the Councils delivery partners for Phase One of the multi-million-pound regeneration of Butetown, Cardiff. Phase One of the masterplan will see the delivery of a new 17,000-capacity arena, hotel and associated parking. The arena, which is set to create 1,000 jobs when complete, is being developed by Robertson Group and will be operated by Live Nation and Oak View Group. Nick will join the conference to reveal more details on this scheme which will cement Cardiff Bay’s position as a top-tier visitor attraction.
