Galliard Homes on Tuesday shrugged off Brexit uncertainty and agreed to start construction on luxury flats worth over £140 million above the Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station. Galliard Homes are speaking at our upcoming TFL Development & Economic Growth Conference, where they will discuss this and other developments driven by the Elizabeth Line’s construction. The commitment to invest comes just days after they completed a purchase of a 0.5 acre development site for around £43 million.

A Transport for London spokesman said: “We have exchanged contracts with Galliard for the over-station development above the new Tottenham Court Road Elizabeth line western entrance.”

Work to create the 92 flats, which will sit above the new station entrance on Dean Street, will start this January and be completed by mid 2022. The development will be called TCRW.

Don O’Sullivan, chief executive of Galliard said: “Despite political and economic uncertainty, there is still demand for homes in central London.”

He added: “I would imagine that by the time we have finished building the Crossrail delays will be sorted and it will be operating. That will help us attract a queue of buyers.”  [/emaillocker]
