The Birmingham Property Lunch is a is an exclusive, intimate networking event focused on the region’s built environment sector. As the industry evolves with the announcement of public land projects, housing and regeneration schemes and PropTech innovations, the Built Environment Networking team are putting you in touch with the key decision makers and leaders driving the change.

The event will involve a VIP lunch interspersed with a panel discussion featuring investors, developers, landowners and other end users who will highlight their key projects and future ambitions

SLR Consulting – Mike Axon, Global Director of Transport

Mike is the Global Director of Transport at SLR Consulting, with 30 years’ experience in transport planning in the development industry, based in London. His expertise includes transport masterplanning and placemaking design, advising on transport policy, directing innovative transport approaches to schemes, and developing and presenting cogent arguments, regularly at Public Inquiry. He integrates our international R&D projects into UK transport planning practices, to ensure that local development planning projects immediately capitalise on these sustainable solutions. He is a Fellow of CIHT and a Member of TPS, and he is also a Design Council Expert and a New London Architecture Transport & Infrastructure Expert. Outside of the industry, he is a Director of indoor climbing wall companies. When not on the day job, he enjoys ski touring, downhill mountain biking, mountaineering, rock climbing and of course cycling!

Birmingham City Council – Maria Dunn, Head of Development Policy

The recently launched “Our Future City: Central Birmingham Framework 2040” will double the city’s green space and active travel routes and has the potential to create 74,000 new jobs as well as 35,000 new homes for the growing population. Maria will delve into the masterplan, which was launched at UKREiiF, in more detail and outline how it is a once in a generation opportunity for equitable growth.

SLR Consulting – Jessica Elliott, Principal Transport Planner

Jessica is a Principal Transport Planner based in Birmingham with six years’ experience in the transport planning sector working for both public and private clients. She is experienced in providing transport and traffic advice in relation to planning applications and has worked on a variety of schemes across the UK within the residential, retail, aviation, employment, industrial and logistics sectors.
