Built Environment Leaders Group

Thursday, 9th June 2022 1530hrs – 2100hrs

10-11 Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1Y 5AH

Built Environment Leaders Group is the place where leaders in the property and construction sector meet. A place to network with peers, clients, business leaders and national and local government representatives.

At our event in June we will be joined by:

  • James Heath – Chief Executive Officer, National Infrastructure Commission
  • Kate Willard OBE – Chair of the Thames Estuary Growth Board and the Thames Estuary Envoy
  • Baroness Charlotte Vere – Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Department for Transport

This is just one of our meetings – with the Leaders Group meeting in-person once a month and with other ad-hoc virtual gatherings – which creates a forum where C-Suite professionals can meet to discuss opportunities, challenges and the latest trends and insights within the industry. Benefits of membership include:

  • Access to high-level C-Suite networking – with some of the leading businesses in the industry to enable person and strategic relationships with peers
  • Opportunity to meet major industry players in one place every single month – removing usual gatekeepers and time-constraints
  • Participate in strategic discussions and develop industry thought leadership, with opportunities to lobby senior Government and industry figureheads
  • Exceptional venues alongside flowing drinks and an excellent 3-course meal
  • A* Speakers – from Government Officials, Regional Mayor’s and leading C-Suite decision makers at the biggest firms in the UK
  • Exclusive content in addition to the monthly meeting – such as one-to-one virtual get-togethers with the likes of Mayor Andy Burnham

This event will be held at 10-11 Carlton House Terrace which is one of London’s finest Georgian treasures, the Terrace was designed by John Nash and constructed from 1827 to 1833. Constructed on the site of Carlton House, the former home of the Prince Regent, later George IV it consists of two residential blocks separated by the Duke of York’s Column and was designed by Nash to be an impressive backdrop to St James’s Park and the Mall. Carlton House Terrace rapidly became one of the most fashionable addresses in London and is the setting for Oscar Wilde’s play Lady Windermere’s Fan. The architectural historian Sir Nikolaus Pevsner, himself a Fellow of the Academy, described the Terrace as among ‘the greatest terrace houses ever built in Britain’.

“Leaders Group provides a very appropriate setting for an interesting discussion on the current issues faced within our industry. It offers a great chance to share insights and experiences as well as ask questions of other business leaders which is incredible informative and useful for shaping our own business thoughts.” – Stuart Pratt, Development Director at Godwin Developments

“The Built Environment Leaders Group is a great opportunity to meet with a range of senior decision makers across the development and related fields. The scope of the membership, the seniority of the participants and the convivial format of the meetings lends itself to fascinating, wide ranging discussions. Its very rare to come away from a meeting without new learnings and contacts” – Tim Morris, Chief Executive at UK Major Ports Group

“I have found the opportunity to meet and engage with chief executive and similar level of professionals working across the built environment to be invaluable. Not only has it given me unique insights into different, but related, sectors, the real attraction for me is being able to have that senior engagement in an informal and private setting, outside of a formal meeting for example. One of the strengths of convening a diverse set of leaders, in addition to the helpful roundtable presentations, comes from the spin-off conversations and collaborations that are enabled by the network.” – Victoria Hills, Chief Executive at RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute)

“Leaders Group is very well organised and extremely interesting – it’s a well-balanced evening combining stimulating talks and lively conversation with well managed discussion. It forms a great opportunity to hear from and meet with others in similar roles to understand and share challenges and opportunities, and the fabulous event surroundings of Spencer House and first class food and drink.” – Jonnie Allen, Senior Partner at Cundall

“Built Environment Leaders Group offers a tight forum of top executives to network with, and enjoy a very relaxed and cordial evening. Top economic and procurement ‘free and easy’ debates and Q&A followed by informal and very informative speakers means the value of this Group is priceless.” – Lance Taylor, CEO of Gallagher Group

“We joined Leaders Group to help influence some of the issues of the day in our industry – and we have since sat at the table with Government Ministers, heads of estates and many other influential leaders from public and private sector organisations. This platform is much more than a network event, it is an influential movement that gives attendees a unique opportunity to contribute to issues facing the industry and at the same time provides company directors with an opportunity to promote their business or services to a select and influential audience.” – Mark Hobson, Chief Executive Officer at Maber Architects

“I have really appreciated taking part in the Built Environment Networking Leaders Group. It is a very open and welcoming forum, the discussions are lively, relevant and interesting and the guest speakers are always of the highest quality.” – Michael Barker, Partner at Stephen George + Partners LLP
