The Construction Skills Fund provides free training to people looking to join the UK’s construction industry, benefitting both employers and workers. Steve will share insight into the programme designed to make our industry attractive and accessible career opportunities as well as talking about the other work CITB are doing to nurture the sector’s future professionals.

Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy – Stuart Young, Head of Stakeholder Engagement & Management, Construction Unit

As Head of Stakeholder Engagement & Management at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s Construction Unit, Stuart is heavily involved in the Construction Talent Retention Scheme. This is a partnership between Government and industry and is supported by business associations, member companies, professional institutions and unions. The scheme aims to match suitable jobseekers with employers within the construction industry to prevent a skills drain, and will also give displaced workers from sectors hit by Covid a route to find new employment in construction.
