How Construction Technology Can Accelerate Development and Economic Growth

The construction sector has been earmarked as one of the main areas of the economy to kick start the UK’s fightback from the pandemic; with new rules and challenges ahead on and off site, construction technology is set to see vast acceleration in innovation and implementation.

In this webinar we will be exploring the benefits of different areas of construction technology, and how they are being implemented in some of the biggest property and construction organisations who are building and developing in the UK. We will also look at latest innovations in construction technology set to hit construction sites over the coming months and years.

This webinar is part of a new series of events looking at the future of the construction industry which will take place over the course of 2021, and will explore the next big trends, innovations and challenges the industry needs to prepare for.

  • Willmott Dixon – Andrew leads on digital transformation projects at Wilmott Dixon and in this role he looks after effective implementation of the latest technologies, processes, and BIM throughout the organisation. His background is in Structural Engineering, and the majority of his experience in construction was gained in the heavy refurbishment of existing assets in Central London whilst working for a steel fabricator. Andrew will explore the advances and benefits of data and BIM and discuss what it can bring to the property and construction sector.
  • Highways England – Muneer has been instrumental to designing and implementing delivery of Highways roadmap to connected and automated plant which will bring £200bn of productivity gains via revolutionising construction safety by 2040. He joins the event to talk about the use of cloud technology to drive development and road network improvements.
  • StratBIM – An architect, with a second degree on BIM in “BIM in IPD – Integrated Project Delivery”, Cláudia is a StratBIM founding partner. Under Claudia’s current leadership, StratBIM continues to reaffirm its reference position in the Portuguese BIM scene. Experienced across the AEC value chain, from design consultancies, to authorities and industry fabricators, Claudia’s StratBIM is also the driving force behind BIMCentro event, a reference forum for BIM discussion and promotion, bridging university and industry, and attracting international speakers as well as some of the most prestigious speakers in the BIM Portuguese environment. Claudia’s is also passionate and deeply involved in promoting and teaching BIM. Actively following worldwide BIM implementation developments, Claudia is actively involved with the digital transformation in the construction industry internationally, being the Portuguese regional lead for the “Women in BIM”.
