Electrical Power Infrastructure and Capital Investment Plans Conference

This conference will focus on the huge investment being put into the sector, the work opportunities this creates, the economic impact and the future for the sector.

With the UK energy sector caught up in the crossfire of needing to generate more electrical power than ever before and the UK’s zero carbon agenda, this conference will explore the levels of investment forthcoming to build new power stations and electricity generation options.

The British government has pledged £42 billion to bolster supply and improve energy security. It is estimated the development of more electrical energy sources will grow the UK economy by £20bn and create 20,000 new jobs. Energy Networks Association – Randolph Brazier, Director of Innovation & Electricity Systems

The Energy Networks Association (ENA) acts as the voice of the UK & Ireland’s energy networks. Their members employ around 45,000 people and have spent and invested over £60 billion in the last eight years. Over recent years the ENA has worked with its members to overhaul existing systems, processes and policies to bolster net zero targets and create the world’s first zero-carbon gas grid by speeding up the switch from natural gas to hydrogen for 85% of the UK households connected to the grid.

Energy UK – Audrey Gallacher, Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Policy

Energy UK are a highly important group of electricity sector stakeholders who are pushing for acceleration of green generation and delivery solutions in Britain. Most recently, Audrey has been working in a piece of work which highlights ways the industry can be a bulwark for a fairer more inclusive societal recovery from Covid-19. As part of this session she will talk in depth about the work and the implications for developers in the future.

Energy Systems Catapult – Eric Brown, Chief Technology Officer

Eric is the leader of a team of high level industry experts at the catapult who are working on making the electricity sector more sustainable. With a 360 degree view on challenges and opportunities facing the energy sector and an understanding of the complications when delivering capital works to a green standard. He will talk about the advancements in technology and cutting edge energy industry innovation as part of the conference.
