Durham Development Plans: Building Back Bigger, Better and Fairer

County Durham is undergoing a quiet metamorphosis with several multi-million pound inward investment focused development schemes baring fruition alongside a £145m wider, local authority lead package of regeneration projects. This event brings together the main voices behind the most exciting of the projects to share an insight into their future plans, development pipeline and economic impact.

  • Durham County Council – responsible for delivering £145m worth of regeneration into County Durham in the next 12 months, Amy is a vastly experienced regenerator who has worked across the UK delivering place related improvement. As part of this event she will talk about their development strategy and the partners she is working with to deliver change.
  • Atom Bank – Atom Bank are a Durham based blue chip organisation with a major hand in supporting regional regeneration projects. Ed is passionate about the North East and will talk about founding and growing a business in Durham, their plans for the future and how his organisation is working to create a more equitable society.
  • Citrus Group – Citrus Group are the developers behind £300m Durham industrial development Integra61 which will be responsible for creating 4000 jobs for the region upon completion. The perfect example of blending economic growth with regeneration, James joins the event to talk about their plans, their great relationship with the local authority and his vision for the site.
  • Durham University – Currently delivering £700m worth of estates and infrastructure projects as part of their 10-year campus masterplan, Durham University are one of the UK’s leading education institutions. As part of this session Stephen will detail their future capital investment programme and how it links to wider destination creation in Durham.
