Cabinet Office – Dr Janet Young, UK Government Chief Property Officer

Dr Janet Young was appointed Government Chief Property Officer in June 2018. Janet is head of the Government Property Profession, the community of property professionals across government. She provides professional leadership across a diverse range of government departments and arms-length bodies which deliver the government’s property ambitions. Dr Young joins the event to talk in depth about how the public and private sector can collaborate more fruitfully while outlining her team’s priorities for a post-Covid world.

Office of Government Property – Yogesh Babbar, Chief Data Officer

Yogesh is the Chief Data Officer for the Office of Government Property. Sitting in Cabinet Office, he is the custodian of, and voice for all data and analysis initiatives across Government Property and over the civil service’s property portfolio. He leads Data and Analysis Centre of Excellence that provides function wide data insights and manages information as an asset, enabling large government property programs to succeed. He joins the event to talk about ongoing asset digitisations projects and associated challenges and opportunities

Ministry of Defence – Sherin Aminossehe, Director of Infrastructure

Sherin Aminossehe, FRICS RIBA, is Director Of Infrastructure at the Ministry of Defence. Previously Sherin was Head of the Commercial Office business at Lendlease where she was in charge of shaping some of the company’s largest regeneration projects, including the £2.4bn International Quarter London in Stratford and led the company’s social impact strategy.

In Whitehall, she held the dual role of Chief Executive Officer at the Government Property Unit, Cabinet Office and Head of Property Profession for the Civil Service. As part of her work for the largest owner of real estate in the UK, Sherin was charged with leading, devising and executing the property strategy for the sitting government, which included working with government departments to look at how they could use their portfolios effectively to create growth as well as saving over £1bn in running costs and £3.6bn in capital receipts. Through the creation of the One Public Estate programme, she also been a strong part of the Government’s social change agenda with a particular focus on creating more homes and jobs.
