Their upcoming projects include the major regeneration of Kingston’s Cambridge Road Estate which will see 2,170 new homes created, 45% of which will be affordable. Kate will discuss their work with partners including local authorities and registered providers and plans for further growth in the capital.

Regal London – Steve Harrington, Planning Director

As the demand for Build-to-Rent grows post-pandemic, Regal London is rapidly developing to change the urban landscape. With multiple developments assisting the current housing crisis, Regal London has invested £500 million in the ‘beds-and-sheds’ scheme in Orchard Wharf comprising mixed use, £125 million Mixed-use site in Camden & 456 BtR properties due to complete 2027. Steve joins us in this session to share his thoughts on the future development and sustainability of BtR .

OX Place – Helen Horne, Managing Director

OxPlace is Oxford City Council’s housing company, established in 2016 to create high-quality, genuinely affordable homes in the City. They build homes for sale, shared ownership and council rent and are building over 2,000 new homes in and around Oxford over the coming decade, with a strong commitment to building net-zero homes.

Packaged Living – Mark Woodrow, Joint Managing Director

The bespoke Build-to-Rent developer Packaged Living provides sustainable properties of the future across the UK – creating “cost-effective, technology-led and purpose-built rental schemes in Bournemouth, Leicester, Cardiff and Milton Keynes. The developer is set to deliver a £200 million regeneration scheme in Southampton, creating 600 new homes and a leisure venue due to start in 2023. Mark will join the conference to discuss their ongoing development plans and hundreds of millions of pounds worth of future investment plans.

Countryside – Kerry O’Driscoll, Associate Director-Social Value

Countryside Partnerships is one of the UK’s leading mixed tenure developers and has major growth plans for London. Labour Party – Dr Alan Whitehead MP, Shadow Minister for Energy and the Green New Deal

Dr Alan Whitehead has been a Member of Parliament since winning his seat in Test, Southampton back in 1997. He is currently assuming the role of Shadow Minister Energy and the Green New Deal. Whitehead has long campaigned in Parliament on the issue of renewable energy and retrofit.

IMMO Capital – Samantha Kempe, Co-Founder, Chief Investment Officer

IMMO capital is Europe’s first technology-led real estate platform – recently announcing a £1 billion investment to buy and retrofit 3000 private rented homes in the UK. With further plans to spend £2.5 billion acquiring and retrofitting over 10,000 homes across the UK, Germany, Spain & the EU. Samantha – co founder of IMMO capital will be joining the session to discuss major Retrofit plans, the challenges and the ways we can support the drive to carbon neutral housing.

Lloyds Banking Group – Andy Mason, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Housing

Lloyds’ banking group is one of the largest mortgage lenders in the UK and is set to become the  biggest landlords by 2030 – supporting the recovery of the UK housing market. Recently providing £16 billion to first time buyers in 2021, aiming to deliver £10 billion in green mortgage lending by 2024, £3.4 billion in social housing funding and 2.4 billion in ESG- related improvements in social housing.  Recently announcing a JV with Kier worth £80 million with targets to build 2000 home across England by 2027. Andrew will be joining us to discuss major development, drive retrofit, challenges of NetZero, lending changes and strategies, consumer affordability and the demand for shared ownership.

Greystar – Michela Hancock, Managing Director

Greystar – Real Estate Partners is an international real estate developer and manager – with multi-billion-pound investment in residential property in 2022. Recently announcing opening of the first phase of Coppermaker Square BTR , developed with investments of over £2 billion. Michela will be joining the session to share intel on BtR developments, the future of the housing market and what can be done to support the industry.

Citra Living Limited – Craig Luttman, Development & Strategy Director

The BtR market is rapidly expanding, with big names rushing to meet demand. Citra Living a subsidiary of the Lloyds Banking Group – created in 2021 is aiming to deliver 10,000 properties, worth £4 billion in yield by the end of 2025 and 50,000 by the end of 2030. Craig Luttman will be joining the session to discuss the ambition of the company, development plans and views on the future of residential development

Ballymore Group – Stevan Tennant, Development Director

Ballymore has recently announced a joint venture with LLDC, planning to create 1200 new affordable homes in the Olympic Park area- costing £600 million. Additionally, the company is earmarked to develop over 31,000 new houses in the Isle of Dogs by 2031 and has submitted planning for a 72,000 sqm Dublin Arch development. Stevan will be joining the session to discuss intel on residential development and house lead placemaking.

Quintain Living – Danielle Bayless, Chief Operation Officer

Quintain are award winning development and asset management company with over 9,000 home and 30 years’ experience. Recently developing Wembley Park, investing over £2.5 billion in 8,400 homes across 7 acres – the mixed-use development is leading the way in providing the 15min neighbourhoods of the future. Aiming to increase footfall to the area to 20 million a year and yielding over £328 million annually. Danielle – CEO will be joining the session to discuss intel on current BtR plans, the future of residential development and the challenges of regeneration

Grainger Plc – Mike Keaveney, Director of Land and Development

Grainger are one of the UK’s largest professional landlords with 9793 rental homes, 23,000 customers, a market value of £3.1 billion and 9,962 homes worth £2.4 billion in the pipeline. Recently announcing Grainger’s first £37 million, 232 home BtR residential development in derby city. Mike will be joining us on this session to discuss where the residential market sits as part of the UK wide levelling up ambition and Grainger’s developments that are contributing to the agenda.

Browne Jacobson – Zo Hoida, Partner

Zo is a real estate legal partner specialising in regeneration projects for Browne Jacobson’s government sector clients. Working on major regeneration projects and town centre re-developments she works at the heart of the socially valuable work we do as a firm. Zo also advises private developers and investors and has experience in renewable energy projects. Zo is also a Director of England China Business Forum, and as part of the International Board, looks after Browne Jacobson’s relationships with APAC firms.

Schneider Electric – Nico Van Der Merwe, Vice President Home & Distribution

Nico has worked at Schneider Electric for over 12 years, taking up the role of Vice President of Home & Distribution UK&I in 2019. Throughout the years, Nico has been in charge of Schneider Electric’s channel development for Europe, playing a vital role in formulating and leading strategic transformational projects.

Nico is currently responsible for ensuring that Schneider Electric’s portfolio of smart devices, sensors and energy management solutions are front of mind with electricians, home builders and contractors.  With homes becoming increasingly connected and the spotlight on the inefficiencies of UK housing stock becoming a great focus in the battle to halt climate change, Nico believes that smart technologies such as Wiser will have a large role to play in creating truly connected and efficient homes.

With electrical demand in the residential space growing, Nico believes that Schneider Electric has the technology and relevant channels in place to bring these solutions from grid to plug.

AECOM – Nick Jones, Director

AECOM are a 7,000-strong multi-disciplinary consultant in UK & Ireland, providing a wide range of services on projects across the whole residential sector, from new build apartment blocks, high rise towers, strategic land and garden villages, to decarbonising and energy efficiency improvements of existing stock. Our clients include housebuilders, local authorities, RPs and private sector developers delivering PBSA, BtR, later living, open market and affordable schemes. Nisa is a research, marketing and content specialist at Built Environment Networking. She will be hosting a number of the sessions throughout the day, running the day’s proceedings and managing the interaction between our virtual delegates and the speakers.

Leap Environmental – Richard Brinkworth, Managing Director

Richard Brinkworth is a widely recognised Chartered Civil Engineer, with 30 years of experience in the construction industry.  He is a founding partner of Leap Environmental.  Leap carry out site investigations and geotechnical design for development projects on brownfield and greenfield sites.  Leap joined the RSK Group in 2021. Crispin has broad experience in residential and commercial development, specialising in the house building industry. He advises housebuilders on the drafting and negotiation of large and complex acquisition/site assembly agreements, sale and development agreements, option agreements, sales to housing associations, conditional contracts and collaboration agreements.
