Future Development Plans – Lincoln and Lincolnshire

This webinar will delve into the potential development, regeneration and investment opportunities which are emerging across Lincolnshire.

Lincolnshire is a region steeped in history – but it’s going through a transformational period with thousands of homes set to be built across the region and major job creating regeneration, commercial and logistical schemes coming to the fore in Lincoln, Boston and Grantham, this webinar will look at some of the biggest development projects, plans and proposals across the region.

We will hear from the masterminds behind the development plans designed to drive inwards investment and economic growth into Lincolnshire, as well as insight into their upcoming plans.

  • Boston Borough Council & East Lindsey District Council – Boston have bid for £20 million from the government’s levelling up fund to bring forward a number of priority schemes in the town including the creation of an integration hub and learning centre, urban living schemes with contemporary housing, hospitality and retail uses, and a town centre greening project. Michelle will reveal more details about these schemes to be brought forward as well as the council’s wider housing and regeneration plans.
  • Platform Housing Group – With a stock of over 120,000 homes nationally, Platform Housing Group are based in Lincolnshire, managing, and developing hundreds of new homes per year via the Waterloo Housing Group. Across the Midlands they are bringing forward £83m of projects in the next year and Elizabeth joins the webinar to discuss how Lincolnshire can compete on the national stage as it aims to build back better.
  • Greater Lincolnshire LEP – Ruth is responsible for the day to day running and development of the LEP and guides the strategic direction of the LEP, ensuring it retains its focus on productivity, creating jobs and removing the barriers to economic growth. By spearheading the Humber Freeport proposals, Ruth and her team worked tirelessly to secure freeport status and thus unlock a plethora of associated development projects which will benefit the whole of Lincolnshire. Ruth will be on hand to update delegates on the progress made on the Freeport since it won its bid and discuss the opportunities to be created by the Freeport and the LEP’s other growth boosting projects.
  • University of Lincoln – The University of Lincoln have been actively upgrading their estates over the past few years with the latest development being their new £5.1 million Advanced Engineering Research and Development facility called ‘The Bridge’, which will be located alongside the Lincoln Science and Innovation Park and house £1.2 million worth of equipment in specialist laboratories. This includes advanced electron and atomic force microscopes, as well as surface analysis and thermo-mechanical instrumentation. Professor Neal Juster has just started in post as Vice Chancellor and will join the session to discuss his vision for the university over the coming years and the its importance to retaining talent and skills in the region, as well as discussing future estates development plans.
