Ged Fitzgerald, Chief Executive; Liverpool City CouncilGed Fitzgerald Resized

Ged began his career in Local Government with Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council in Merseyside in 1983.

He progressed through a range of posts in both Economic Development and Policy Support before his appointment as Director of Liverpool City Challenge and Head of Economic Development and European Affairs for Liverpool City Council.

He joined Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council in West Yorkshire as Deputy Chief Executive in January 1998 and was then appointed Chief Executive of Rotherham MBC in South Yorkshire from January 2001 where he stayed until the end of 2003.  Following this he was Chief Executive at Sunderland City Council from 2004 to 2008.

Ged was Chief Executive at Lancashire County Council from June 2008 until the end of January 2011 when he took up post in Liverpool.

Ged has always retained an interest in Economic Development and Regeneration and will continue to enjoy these challenges together with the opportunity to reshape Liverpool City Council as an authority that is known for its service excellence and innovative working. He will also focus on Liverpool City Council’s pivotal role in promoting and positioning Liverpool City Region as a key economic driver with in the UK.


Sudarghara Dusanj, Managing Director; Robert Cain Brewery & Pub Co.Suds Dusanj

Started working for a stock broker in the City of London Sid left the world of stocks and shares behind to start-up businesses with his family.  The family retail operation in Kent which included fish & chip shops, news-agencies and off-licences gave Sid his grounding in understanding business and the importance of customer service.

Sid’s business experience then led to him becoming the Managing Director of a soft drinks manufacturer in the West Midlands taking their turnover from below half a million pounds to £5m and then onto Cains in Liverpool where the organisation was listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM Market.  Sid has experience of managing organisations with multimillion pound turnover.

Property has always been a passion of Sid’s and he is currently the Managing Director of two organisations with portfolios in the North West and West Midlands England.

Sid is also the Managing Director of Cains Brewery Village.  An ambitious £175m project to bring back the magnificent Grade II listed Robert Cain Brewery that will form the heart of a vibrant urban village and will underpin the regeneration of the Baltic Triangle into an area thriving with creative and independent minded companies and individuals. The site has been granted planning approval for over 1 million Sq Ft of development including 725 new homes, a supermarket, an art-house cinema, a boutique hotel, weekend street markets and a craft-brewery that will keep the Cains brand alive.

Family plays as important part in Sid’s life and he is married with 3 children. He is currently doing an Executive MBA degree at Warwick Business School.

Colin Sinclair, Chief Executive; Liverpool Knowledge QuarterColin Sinclair 019

Colin Sinclair is the Chief Executive of Liverpool Knowledge Quarter, a new organisation brought together by five funding partners – Liverpool City Council, the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University NHS Trust – to create, develop and promote Liverpool as one of Europe’s leading Innovation Districts. The Knowledge Quarter will become one of the city regions first Mayoral Development Zones.

Colin started his career in the music business, managing bands and owning clubs and bars in Manchester before moving onto to produce a number pf major televised events. In 2004 he was appointed Director of Marketing for MIDAS and Manchester Enterprises and in 2005 he became Chief Executive of Manchester’s Investment and Development Agency (MIDAS), attracting substantial inward investment before joining property developers Bruntwood in 2010. initially to lead on the diversification of their business into science, biomedical and technology. Colin’s work as a Director at Bruntwood included the acquisition of Manchester Science Park, the redevelopment of Manchester Business School, the Citylabs development and the evolved workspace concept for the neo building, now under construction, as well as property marketing. Six years later Colin has retained his links with the family owned property company as their Chairman for Liverpool. A role he combines with his new full time post in the Knowledge Quarter.
