The tram proposal will connect Dartford, Swanscombe, Gravesend, Ebbsfleet International and Grays, creating an integrated and enhanced local economy and supporting the Government’s net-zero target. The project has an initial cost of £800 million and an outline business case has been submitted to the Department for Transport with a decision due soon. Gordon will discuss the project and how it will enable further residential and mixed use development along its route. Transport for London – Emma Hatch, Senior Development Manager TFL owns a 5,700 acre estate that includes land and properties with huge potential for creating the homes and jobs that the capital needs. They are partnering with a number of developers, housebuilders and registered providers to bring forward housing, commercial and mixed use projects. Emma will give an update on the development programme which will see the long term development of 10,000 new homes and creation of thousands of jobs. HS1 – Pelham Walker, Head of Property and Masterplanning HS1 Ltd owns the 109km line and adjacent land between London and the Channel known as HS1. They are working with Telford Homes to develop 380 homes alongside retail and office space next to their Stratford International Station. As well as this project they are looking to utilise land along the HS1 route in Stratford, St Pancras and Kings Cross for further mixed use development. Pelham will discuss this project, and how HS1 is enabling much needed development in London and how they are looking for further development partners to work with. Greater London Authority – Simona Webb, Engagement and Delivery Lead, Infrastructure Coordination Service Simona Webb is the Engagement and Delivery Manager in the Mayor of London’s Infrastructure Team. Simona has led the delivery of a number of major programmes in the Mayor’s office over the years. She has extensive experience working with government, local authorities and industry. Her work has delivered air quality, green transport, affordable and sustainable energy benefits for Londoners and businesses. Most recently she led the launch of London Power, a Mayor of London founded energy company. Simona is also an experienced communications and engagement strategist. She has a wide-reaching and cross-cutting role in the Infrastructure Team working alongside the management team to direct and deliver projects.
