Ed Ellerington, Director; Grainger Plc

Having joined Grainger plc in 2010 to support the building of the company’s corporate finance and fund management divisions, Ed is now responsible for Grainger’s PRS investment drive into the UK regions. A chartered banker with over 10 years’ cross border experience in financial services, focused predominantly in real estate backed corporate banking, private equity and fund management, Ed is also a former Lombard Scholar and Freeman of London.

In 2014, Ed completed an executive MBA at Regensburg University in Germany focusing on UK residential backed investment products.

Paul Beardmore, Director of Housing; Manchester City Council

Paul has worked extensively in private sector housing renewal with a brief period in housing management before settling into housing strategy and policy in 1998.  He enjoyed a short secondment to the Housing Corporation in 1999, and has headed up a strategic housing service since 2003.

In 2009 he took up the post of Director of Housing at Manchester City Council.  In the 8 years he has been with the City council, he has overseen two successful bids for Local Authority Newbuild funding, development and implementation of a new forward thinking City Wide Allocations scheme called Manchester Move, the successful transfer of all of the remaining Council Housing stock including the implementation of 3 housing PFI contracts.  Paul has led on the development of Manchester’s ambitious residential growth strategy and has had the determination to see through the implementation of new models of investment utilising MCC owned land and investment funding from Greater Manchester Pension Fund.  He is currently working on expanding the investment into phase 2 and ultimately into a Greater Manchester programme.

In this time he has also increasingly worked on behalf of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority as a housing specialist.  Paul has worked on all the housing devolution elements and is currently developing a unique partnership approach with key registered providers across GM. He is also Executive Director of Manchester Place, a unique delivery vehicle for driving and facilitating residential development in Manchester.
