Future Development Plans – Oxfordshire

Built Environment Networking’s hugely popular evening networking events return to Oxford in association with the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum, bringing together regional public sector leadership with a multitude of developers, investors, and project delivery bodies who will unveil a range of new projects totalling hundreds of millions of pounds and give exclusive intelligence surrounding future regeneration ambition across Oxford and Oxfordshire.

Oxfordshire LEP – Nigel Tipple, Chief Executive

Oxfordshire LEP has been concentrating on regeneration projects aimed at connectivity and infrastructure by using a £118m local growth fund to unlock clean, green economic growth across the county. As part of this event, Nigel will focus on how his team are bringing forward 27 specific multimillion pound schemes which will complement a range of other development projects being pursued by the public and private sector.

Harwell Science & Innovation Campus – Emma Southwell-Sander, Energy Tech Cluster Manager

The 700 acre Harwell Campus is now home to over 200 organisations and 6,000 people representing 60 nationalities, spread across a number of Tech clusters (primarily Space, Energy and Health) which brings together a powerful, collaborative ecosystem of industry, academia and public sector bodies with £3bn of open access national laboratory facilities. Over the next 7 years the 700 acre campus is set to mature further with 5m sq ft of new development to accommodate more leading edge organisations and their world-class employees.

The Energy Tech Cluster has grown from its launch in 2018 to 80 organisations ranging from national infrastructure providers to startups and scaleups and 1,200+ employees and is continuing its significant expansion.

Oxfordshire County Council – Bill Cotton, Corporate Director for Environment and Place

Oxfordshire County Council are working alongside the other five local authorities in the county to deliver the Oxfordshire Plan 2050 as part of the £215m Housing & Growth Deal which will help deliver greatly needed new homes – including affordable and social housing, and infrastructure to the county while helping to tackle climate change. The plan will identify key areas for sustainable growth with associated housing / employment numbers, while considering how to help tackle climate change, improve water efficiency and mitigate flood risk. Bill will discuss this plan and how the council are working to enable sustainable and inclusive growth across the county.

Built Environment Networking – Amanda Griffiths, Director

Amanda is one of the Co-Founder’s of Built Environment Networking – formed almost 10 years ago.

She’ll be hosting throughout the day, running the days proceedings and managing the interaction between our delegates and the speakers.

Siemens Magnet Technology – Ralph Seidler, Managing Director

In late 2021 Siemens Magnet Technology announced plans for a brand new £200m facility in Oxford, a 581,251 sq ft development and production plant to support business critical elements of Siemens Healthineers. As part of the event, Ralph will go into detail of why Oxfordshire has been chosen for this investment and talk about timeline for delivery, wider economic impact, and potential future plans of a national flavour.

Built Environment Networking – Fahmida Nisa, Host & Event Manager

Nisa is a research, marketing and content specialist at Built Environment Networking. She will be hosting a number of the sessions throughout the day, running the day’s proceedings and managing the interaction between our virtual delegates and the speakers.

Oxford to Cambridge Arc Leadership Group – Bev Hindle, Executive Director

As Executive Director of the OxCam Arc Leaders group as well as a Director of Oxfordshire County Council, Bev is well placed to offer a strategic view of the Arc. With government support for the project wavering, collaboration between local leadership, the private sector and other stakeholders is more vital than ever and Bev will offer his views on the future of the Arc
