Retirement and Later Life Living Investment and Development Plans; Sponsored by DAC Beachcroft

Monday, 4th October 2021 1345hrs – 1530hrs

As the UK later life living sector emerges from a challenging 18 months, thoughts turn to how the industry develops the third age communities of the future. This event brings delegates together with developers and changemakers within the industry to talk about their future plans and development pipelines while also assessing the key challenges and opportunities facing operators and investors. Close to £1bn of projects will be showcased in this unique event.

Speakers for this event include:

  • Godwin Group – established retail and residential developers Godwin Group are moving into the retirement living sector with a host of major announcements to be made throughout 2021. By the time this event comes round, Tom will be in a position to react to the news of investment and development initiatives in this realm that are to be brought forward across the next 12 months.
  • The All Parliamentary Group for Housing and Care for Older People – A true champion for the older generation, Lord Best has laid a stark warning that a lack of focus on elderly housing provision will lead to a billion pound crisis for the UK in the coming years. He joins this conference to set out the priorities of his APPG in creating viable homes and places for the two million people currently living in non-decent accommodation and to appeal to the built environment industry to work with him and his colleagues to create integrated, inclusive and appropriate communities across Britain.
  • DAC Beachcroft – Anna Hart is a Partner in DAC’s Healthcare Regulatory Team.  Specialising in advising clients on a broad range of civil and criminal regulatory issues. She has advised clients in the public, private and charitable sectors in relation to crisis management and regulatory investigations conducted by the Police, Care Quality Commission, Health and Safety Executive and Local Authorities and she is accustomed to dealing directly with regulators on behalf of clients.
  • Lifestory – Created via the merger of major retirement living developers PegasusLife, Anthology and Renaissance Retirement, Lifestory have set out ambitions to develop 5000 new homes for the over 60’s marketplace. They are particularly on the hunt for development opportunities outside of London and this event is timed perfectly for Q3 2021 when Mark will be able to update the audience with exclusive news on sites that they are bringing forward.
  • Anchor Hanover – Anchor Hanover have ambitions to deliver 32 new later life living development schemes by 2027 and are on the look out for support from the built environment supply chain. Jane joins this panel to talk about the impressive array of projects being lead by her organisation, their approach to placemaking for the elderly and give her take on market trends.
  • Spring – Cormac Henderson founded NPT, the precursor to Spring, in 2007 when he identified that the UK residential property market did not serve everyone. Cormac’s ambition today remains true to his original inspiration, to revolutionise the way people sell their home. Spring is the UK’s most capitalised Home Buying Service and works across sectors including Retirement and New Homes to provide a range of part exchange services, allowing its partners to unlock opportunities whilst adding value to their customer experience. Cormac is a recognised entrepreneur and outspoken contributor to the media, including examining the lessons that retired communities can learn from the Covid-19 pandemic.
