Allegra Care – Helen Jones, Chief Executive Allegra Care are a leading operator of nursing and care homes based in Southern England and are a sister company to extra care company, Amicala as part of Senior Living Group. They have formed a JV with Moorfield Group, a leading UK specialist real estate fund manager to acquire and develop care homes, worth an initial £125 million. The partnership recently acquired two homes in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk taking their total to seven. Helen will discuss their acquisition and expansion strategy and the aim of building a 20+ strong portfolio, as well as their ‘household model’, an import from the more mature Australian retirement living sector. Retirement Villages Group – Stewart Moore, Chief Customer Officer Retirement Villages Group is AXA’s senior living platform and has been developing and managing purpose built, retirement communities throughout the UK since 1981. They operate 16 sites across the country, with 5 committed new sites across the South East and plans to add many more. In 2021 they secured £2 billion in funding to drive the long term development of 40 new sites and a total of 5,000 homes across the UK. After significant growth, they now operate eight villages with a further 26 villages in construction and planning phases – including the UK’s first operationally net zero carbon retirement community which will open in 2023. Over the next few years, Inspired Villages aims to deliver 5,000 beautiful and sustainable age-appropriate homes centred around vibrant village communities that enrich the lives of both residents and locals.  Greater Manchester Combined Authority – Nicola Waterworth, Strategic Lead – Ageing in Place Greater Manchester’s Ageing Hub aims to improve the lives of older people across the city-region, so that residents are able to contribute to and benefit from sustained prosperity and enjoy a good quality of life. They are collaborating with social housing providers, local authority teams and private providers to facilitate engagement and collaboration between retirement facilities and wider communities . Long term the combined authority seeks to achieve a permanent cultural shift in thinking around housing in later life, recognising that older people want a choice of different, affordable mainstream and specialist housing options, that meet both need and aspiration and in places where they can maintain or build social connections, achieve good health and independence. Tonic Housing – Anna Kear, Chief Executive Tonic Housing is the UK’s first registered provider of LGBT+ affirmative retirement housing focused on creating vibrant and inclusive urban LGBT+ affirming retirement communities where people can share common experiences, find mutual support and enjoy their later life. Their first community in Vauxhall, Lambeth opened last year and there are plans in place for further mixed tenure schemes. Anchor – Victoria Mager, Director of Development Delivery Anchor are the largest provider of specialist housing and care for older people in England. They own 54,000 homes for people in later life across almost 1,700 sites and operate in more than 85% of local councils in England. They are planning to deliver 5,700 new homes over the next 10 years and are currently tendering for consultancy partners to help realise their ambition with a view to awarding contracts in June 2023. Through their new development consultancy framework, worth an estimated £800m they are seeking architects, agents, structural, mechanical and civil engineers, principal designers, cost consultants and planners. Southway Housing Trust – Karen Mitchell, Chief Executive Southway Housing are a committed and forward-thinking housing association providing over 6,000 homes across Greater Manchester. They have ambitious plans for growth and are mid-way through a 1,600 new home delivery programme as part of their futures strategy. In addition, Southway are also set to benefit from the £97m social housing decarbonisation fund assigned to Greater Manchester and Karen will be on hand to discuss their plans for this funding.
