Estates and Buildings provides a stimulating working and learning environment appropriate to the needs of a leading international centre of excellence. To achieve this we spend some £60m capital expenditure a year on major new builds or large refurbishments.


Ann Allen, Director of Estates & Buildings; University of GlasgowAnn Allen

Ann is the Director of Estates and Buildings at the University of Glasgow.  In her current role the department she leads is responsible for the estates strategy, projects, maintenance and infrastructure including carbon reduction.  Ann has worked in property for over 30 years gaining a wealth of experience with a focus on asset management. She has worked primarily in the private sector both for property companies and in corporate roles. Prior to joining the University, Ann headed up the asset management team at John Lewis.   Ann is also a Trustee of Ethical Property and sits on the Learning Group for Construction Scotland.
