The Scottish Highlands Future Development Plans

Off the back of the announcement of £315m worth of capital investment for the Highlands Growth Deal, this unique event explores the regeneration and development projects taking place across the region.

Covering the area the size of Belgium, stakeholders in the Highlands are keen to engage with the built environment to help deliver a multitude of major projects which will unlock a generation’s worth of inclusive economic growth.

  • The Highlands Council – There is no better time than now to be involved with regeneration across the Scottish Highlands. With £315m worth or regeneration projects in the works, a brand-new housing strategy set to deliver thousands of homes and a major repurposing of Inverness Castle set to take hold, built environment opportunities are aplenty. Malcolm joins this event to lay out the council’s vision for the next five years.
  • The Scotland 5G Centre – The Scotland 5G Centre is funded by the Scottish Government and is a partnership between the Scottish Futures Trust, the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde and was set up to accelerate the adoption of 5G and realise its economic and societal potential for Scotland. The centre has been working to improve digital infrastructure in the Highland area to assist the region’s post-covid economic recovery and Paul will discuss this project and how it can enable further growth and development.
