Scottish Transport and Infrastructure Investment & Development Conference

Wednesday, 30th March 2022 0900hrs – 1430hrs

A host of projects contributing to the £33 billion Infrastructure Investment Plan will be discussed at this event.

The Scottish Government is planning to invest unprecedented amounts into transport and infrastructure, as part of their commitment to increase annual investment by more than 1% of Scottish Gross Domestic Product. This will support thousands of jobs and is estimated to simulate the Scottish economy by between £10 and £25 billion over the next 15 years. The Infrastructure Investment Plan will focus on three core strategic themes: enabling the transition to net-zero, driving inclusive economic growth and building resilient and sustainable places. Examples of this infrastructure spending include £550m for rail decarbonisation, over £500m for bus priority, over £550m for active travel infrastructure projects and £287m for the Future Transport Fund.

This, along with major private sector investment in the industry particularly in renewable energy infrastructure, means it is an exciting time to get involved in the sector with myriad opportunities for collaboration. This event will gather policy influencers, investors, developers and other key stakeholders to discuss infrastructure investment priorities and share details of key projects.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Network Rail Scotland’s £4bn investment plan
  • The decarbonisation of Scotland’s railway by 2035
  • The £260m Mossend International Railfreight Park Project
  • The £6bn A9 and A96 Upgrade
  • £300m for zero-emission heat networks
  • The Scottish Govt’s £26bn infrastructure plan
  • ILI Group’s newly announced 50 megawatt scheme
  • ILI Group’s £1.3bn energy infrastructure pipeline
  • £30m support for Aberdeen Harbour’s expansion
