Maple Grove Developments, part of the Eric Wright Group, have major industrial and logistical development plans with two job creating schemes in the north west – their Lancashire Central scheme, a mixed-use development with over half the 2 million sq ft consisting of industrial and logistical units and phase two of their Artis Park schemes in Winsford. More details about these schemes will be revealed as part of this session as well as their future development plans.

Stoford Developments – Anthony Nash, Director

Stoford have recently announced further significant development plans at two sites: the first unit to be built at their £200 million Redditch Gateway logistics scheme and two additional units measuring 83,000 sq ft and 28,500 sq ft at their Exeter Logistics Park. Anthony will be on hand to go into more detail about these schemes and their future pipeline of developments throughout the UK.

 

 

Logistics UK – Natalie Chapman, Head of Policy for the South

Natalie is Logistics UK’s Head of Urban Policy and South of England and specialises in Urban issues (e.g. access, cycling/pedestrian, delivery retiming), Clean Air Zones, Low Emission Zones, London Direct Vision Standard and South of England Policy. She has led on regional lobbying activities within London and the Greater South East area including representing the industry in the print and broadcast media. Natalie was involved in the successful management of freight and logistics policy in the lead up to and during the London 2012 Olympic Games and on delivering the legacy benefits for the logistics industry including the roll out of quiet night time deliveries, improving access arrangements for freight in London and reducing unnecessary costs such as PCNs.

Abrdn – Fraser Green, Senior Asset Manager

Fraser currently assists in the management of the £2.6bn Scottish Widows Investment Partnership Property Trust. His role is to oversee a portfolio of 36 commercial property assets in all sectors throughout the UK, worth a combined total of c. £500m, creating value through the purchase and sale of properties, management of lease events and refurbishment and development of existing assets. The fund is growing rapidly and therefore highly acquisitive and Fraser will be on hand to talk about Aberdeen Standard’s future investments in the Sheds and Logistics sector.

GLP – Adrienne Howells, Senior Development Director

Earlier this year GLP’s European Logistics Fund raised c.£1 billion to boost their millions of sq ft of development across the continent. GLP United Kingdom has a +15 year track record of developing and managing logistics real estate across United Kingdom and as Senior Development Director, Adrienne will be well placed to give more intel on GLP’s future UK development pipeline as well as discussing their D&I and ESG strategies.

St. Modwen – Nick Kay, Development Director

St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics has submitted detailed plans for the first phase of development at St. Modwen Park Derby. The developer’s submission includes plans for three high-quality business units of 39,000 sq ft, 54,000 sq ft and 79,000 sq ft which, if approved, could bring around 300 jobs to the immediate area. St. Modwen are also seeking planning permission for a £150 million industrial and distribution-led mixed-use development on 7 parcels of land near Avonmouth. Nick will join the session to discuss these schemes as well as the multitude of other development projects in the pipeline for the Birmingham based developer.

Prologis – Sally Duggleby, Vice President of Capital and Leasing

Sally will join the session to give more intel on Prologis’ development pipeline which includes the recent announcement of a 368.000 sq ft industrial scheme in Widnes which is set to bring much needed jobs to the area as well as an extension to their Prologis Park in Coventry. Sally will also discuss Prologis’ sustainability drive which has been at the forefront of their buildings and projects for over a decade.

Hermes – Carl Lyon, Chief Operating Officer

One of the UK’s leading delivery companies, Hermes delivered over 630 million parcels, an increase of over 250 million on 2019. To support this growth, Hermes opened 4 operational hubs and 5 new depots. It increased its fleet by 2,500, created more than 10,500 new roles across the business and added 13,000 couriers to its nationwide network. They are looking to expand further to cope with this demand, requiring sites with large yards and two-three sides of loading elevations.

Europa Capital – Vanessa Muscara, Director, Head of Research & Strategy

Logistics continues to be a key sector of focus for Europa Capital, which has acquired c. €350 million of industrial investments on behalf of its strategies across the UK, Germany and the Netherlands in less than three years. Judicious stock selection has resulted in strong rent collection for these investments amounting to 99% and new lettings being signed for c. one million sq. ft over the last year. As Head of Research and Strategy at Europa Capital Vanessa will be well placed to give a European perspective on the future of the sector and the challenges and opportunities ahead as we look towards the post-pandemic economy.

Fortwell Capital – Nikos Yerolemou-Ennsgraber, Director

Fortwell Capital are increasing their investments in Sheds and Logistics developments having recently agreed a £50 million revolving credit facility with Tungsten Properties which Tungsten are using to progress their 1.5m sq ft of national pipeline. Fortwell have also recently completed a £7million loan to Mm Capital for the acquisition and repurposing of a key logistics site in Shrewsbury. Nikos will join the session to talk about these projects and Fortwell’s future plans to invest in the Sheds and Logistics sector.

DAC Beachcroft – Nicky Fairbairn, Partner

Nicola acts for both private and public sector clients on a wide range of estates matters but with a particular emphasis on large scale development or investment transactions and the related project management. Prior to her promotion to Partner in 2020, Nicola had been recognised by Chambers & Partners as a “Star Associate” for three consecutive years.  She is described as “really approachable” and praised for her ability to “translate legal jargon into a layman’s perspective.”

Paul is a motivational Leader, with a proven track record of delivering results through the innovative application of traditional skills across a range of market sectors, With a thirst for knowledge and a technical mindset, Paul has always sought new and innovative ways to deliver solutions to common problems, and was a finalist in the Parcel & Post Technology International Awards in 2020.

A Partner at Arcadis, Paul leads the Urban Logistics Sector, where his team provide have a strong track record of providing a wide range of design & consultancy services to well-known logistics developers, operators and investors.

Aitchison Developments are a sheds, logistics and commercial developer primarily concentrating their projects on the OxCams Arc and the south of England. Their current activity see 3 major projects in the pipeline – a 50 acre industrial development near Southampton, phase one of the Bourn Quarter development in Cambridge which will see 15 industrial units be built, and an industrial unit to be developed near Eastbourne. Chris will join the session to discuss these exciting schemes and look ahead to their future development plans.
