He has more than 21 years experience and more than £10 billion capital experience including health service business appraisal and capital development. Conor’s background includes 10 years in clinical health management in the NHS and has since advised the Department of Health, UK Treasury & Government Property Unit on delivering health performance improvement. He has worked on a number of award winning schemes, including more than 42 major hospital projects and PPPs including University Hospitals in London, Manchester, North Staffordshire, Hereford, Newcastle and St Helens amongst others plus schemes in 18 countries such as Australia, Canada, France, Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, Ukraine and the UAE. He has extensive experience in delivering community, primary & mental health projects from strategic location reviews to new facility design, completion and operational studies including more than 70 projects including Gateshead, Daventry, Chesterfield, Warrington, Sandwell, Bristol, London, Ireland, Russia and Qatar. He has been an advisor in many high profile reconfiguration schemes for NHS clients, private hospitals, government agencies, private sector consortium and bank due diligence on health and mixed use schemes via all procurement types from traditional, P21 plus, PPP, and recently joint ventures and LABV. Conor is the author of more than 30 articles and input to design related toolkits including AEDET Evolution, single ward studies, Department of Health KPI’s & CABE design efficiency papers, published in 3 continents. Speakers Guy Godwin; Director Greater Manchester, NHS Property Guy is the Interim Greater Manchester Local Area Team Manager for NHS Property Services (NHSPS), the private company wholly owned by the Department of Health that was formed following the abolition of Primary Care Trusts to take ownership of the non-LIFT primary care estate. Prior to this he was the Associate Director of Estates at NHS Bury, having previously been the LIFT Project Director for Bury Tameside & Glossop. Guy has also worked in the acute sector as a Senior Health Planner on the Central Manchester Hospitals PFI Project and within the private sector as a Health Planning Consultant for Capita. Outside of work he is a keen golfer, manager of a youth football team and life-long Chelsea fan, the latter enabling a healthy neutral position as to the best club in Manchester! Mike Burrows; Director Greater Manchester, NHS England Mike Burrows is Director of the NHS England (Greater Manchester) area team. Previous to this he was the Chief Executive of NHS Greater Manchester. From May 2004 until May 2011 he was Chief Executive of Salford Teaching Primary Care Trust. Originally a Doctor of Biochemistry, Mike has worked in the NHS for 27 years now, both in the finance discipline and general management. He has an active interest in the use of evidence based medicine and a passionate believer of the benefits of strong ties between the NHS and academia. In this respect he is one of the founding Board members of the Manchester Academic Health Sciences Centre and under his leadership developed Salford PCT to be one of the leading research active PCTs in the country. In his present role Mike has the responsibility for overseeing the transition from 10 PCTs in Greater Manchester into their successor bodies including 12 clinical commissioning groups. This is against a backdrop of continued performance delivery and initiation of a major programme of service change within Greater Manchester designed to both future proof local NHS service provision and also improve the quality, safety and outcomes of the care processes. Mike is a council member of the University of Salford and a governor at a local primary school. Neil Grice; Area Director Healthcare Community Partnerships Neil joined Community Health Partnerships in September 2013 as Area Director in the North. He also sits on all 5 Greater Manchester LIFTCO Boards as a director and also the Cumbria LIFTCo. Prio to this he was an associate director within the hub Programme Delivery Office for Scottish Futures Trust where his role was to ensure that the hub was effectively and efficiently implemented and value for money projects were delivered on time and budget for the public sector.
