Meet the Candidates: West of England Combined Authority Mayoral Election

Wednesday, 21st April 2021 1230hrs – 1530hrs

In this exclusive event, we are giving our network of developers, investors, construction professionals and public sector stakeholders the opportunity to engage with the candidates involved in the West of England Combined Authority Mayoral Election.

Delegates will hear each potential leader’s vision for regeneration, infrastructure, housing, investment and public/private sector collaboration and will have chance to pose questions to gain expert insight into the direction of the region under each candidate’s stewardship.

Speakers for this event include:

Conservative Party – Samuel Williams, Conservative Party Candidate

Samuel is the Conservative Candidate for Mayor of the West of England. He lives in Windmill Hill in the South of Bristol and runs a communications consultancy as well as an ethical business network working with other enterprises on issues like protecting the environment and social responsibility. In terms of the built environment his plan for the West of England includes, protecting the environment and cutting CO2 emissions, delivering a better transport system and cutting congestion, supporting a free port in Bristol, building homes and communities that people want to live in, building more train stations with better services.

Labour Party – Dan Norris, Labour Party Candidate

Dan has lived in the West of England for his entire life while spending 30+ years as a local campaigner. He has a plan to invest in public transport, tackle the climate crisis and address homelessness; he sees collaboration with the built environment industry as being key to delivering on his promises. As part of this session he will engage with our audience about the future of the region should he win in May.

Green Party – Cllr Jerome Thomas, Green Party Candidate

Jerome is an experienced Green Councillor and a successful business director. With the skills, determination and passion to lead the West of England to a better future. Jerome will work to rebuild our economy in ways which protect us from climate change and provide opportunities for everyone to learn and work, to connect to each other and to live comfortably.

Built Environment Networking – Amanda Griffiths, Director

Amanda is one of the Co-Founder’s of Built Environment Networking – formed almost 10 years ago.

She’ll be hosting throughout the day, running the days proceedings and managing the interaction between our delegates and the speakers.
