Delivering major investment into transport infrastructure places heavily on the list of priorities of the team at the Combined Authority and as part of this session Liz will talk about the plans for a West Yorkshire Transit Network while also discussing creating opportunity in each of the five West Yorkshire boroughs through improving connectivity.

Ward Hadaway – Jonathan Dickson, Partner

As one of the North’s leading real estate lawyers, Jonathan has his pulse on the industry across a number of areas including real estate transactions, investment, regeneration and energy.

Jonathan will therefore be the ideal chair for our opening panel where he’ll navigate the conversation to discuss what the key ingredients are to creating a more healthier, greener and more inclusive West Yorkshire region.

Ahead Partnership – Stephanie Burras, Chief Executive

Leeds City Council are one of the most inclusive cities across the UK – and Ahead Partnerships are playing a crucial role, embedding social value throughout the community work taking place across West Yorkshire.

With billions of pounds in development, the investor mindset transition to more ESG aligned opportunities, and the increasing importance of social value to community development, Ahead Partnership will be a key anchor in the work taking place across the city.

They’ve already worked with over 2,000 businesses and supported the creation of hundreds of jobs and helped connect 300,000 young people to opportunities, and Stephanie will share details on their approach and the impact a positive social value approach can have to development across the city region.

Coalfields Regeneration Trust – Shaun O’Brien, Property Investment and Development Director

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust are responsible for regenerating old mining communities by driving investment and development within them. Shaun will discuss their forthcoming investment portfolio of c.£42m across industrial, offices, residential, retail and leisure sectors in West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire, which is being undertaken by their burgeoning development arm CRT Property Investments, as well as discussing their role in creating a healthier, greener and more inclusive Yorkshire.
