The council are also looking to create over 700 jobs with a farmland redevelopment in Northallerton, the project will see the delivery of a 21-acre development featuring commercial and industrial units. This comes almost a year after the council completed their £17m mixed-use Treadmills scheme. The scheme was delivered by the council alongside their joint venture partners Wykeland Group. Selby District Council – Julian Rudd, Head of Economic Development and Regeneration Selby is one of three North Yorkshire town centres in line to receive the region’s biggest investment in decades. The Selby town centre will receive a share of a £42m package aimed at increasing productivity in the area. This comes in addition to several major schemes set to unfold across the Selby District, including a 149 acre scheme in Kellingley, the proposed 125 acre redevelopment of the former Eggborough Power Station, and the 75 acre Sherburn2 logistics scheme. Harrogate Council – Kathryn Daly, Head of Place Shaping & Economic Growth As a part of the Government’s £42m North Yorkshire Package, Harrogate’s town centre is one of three North Yorkshire towns set for a regeneration overhaul over the coming years. This comes with the Harrogate Gateway plan to regenerate Station Parade and create a new public transport hub for the town. The council are also in early planning stages of a huge development to in West Harrogate that would include 2,000 homes as well as improvements to highways and infrastructure. Helmsley Property Group – Max Reeves, Development Director Helmsley Group is a property investment and development group that specialises in residential and commercial property. They have a wide array of schemes underway across North Yorkshire with a focus on the city of York, with their 114-apartment Westgate scheme, the largest in York. The Chocolate Works will also include a new brain surgery hospital creating 145 healthcare jobs, and retaining a vital health service in the city following the closure of The Retreat.
