Avant Homes has started construction on a 28-acre site in Holmewood, Derbyshire to deliver 247 new-build homes with a gross development value (GDV) of around £60m.

Located just a 10-minute drive from Chesterfield town centre on Tibshelf Road, the development will comprise a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes and feature 13 of Avant Homes’ house types.

Prices of homes range from £209,995 for a two-bedroom terrace property to £389,995 for a five-bedroom detached home.

Called Earl’s Park, the development received planning permission in December 2021. The overall build programme is estimated to take approximately four and a half years.

Of the 247 homes, 20 per cent have been designated to affordable housing. Avant Homes has also committed to a community contribution of around £2.3m towards the provision of local education and healthcare.

The showhome is due to open this September with the first homes set to be ready for occupation this autumn.

Avant Homes Central managing director, Chris Coley, said: “Earl’s Park is an exciting opportunity to extend our presence close to our headquarters, so we’re pleased to have commenced work to deliver 247 new homes for Holmewood.

“We know there is strong demand for high quality new-build homes in the locality. With the good road connections to both the M1 and Chesterfield town centre, we anticipate our development will be hugely attractive to prospective buyers.”

Avant Homes Central currently has nine live developments ranging from Chesterfield to Mansfield with many more due to start as the business continues to implement its growth plans.

The Avant Homes Group currently operates across the Midlands, north of England and Scotland from eight regional operating businesses.

At present, the housebuilder employs more than 600 people with ambition to grow further across its existing regions and beyond, creating communities and providing employment opportunities for many.  Avant Homes Group has a medium-term strategic objective to sell more than 6,000 new homes per annum.
