Avant Homes is set to deliver 250 new homes in Awsworth, Nottinghamshire after being granted planning permission for a £58m development.

Located two miles from Ilkeston town centre on Shilo Way, the 25-acre site was acquired by Avant Homes in April last year.

Called Bennerley View, the development will comprise a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes and feature 15 of Avant Homes’ house types. Prices start from £169,995 for a two-bedroom mid-terrace property to £399,995 for a five-bedroom detached home.

Of the 250 homes, 20 per cent have been designated to affordable housing. Avant Homes has also committed to a community contribution of £1.7m to support local education, public transport and open green space maintenance.

Work is set to commence on site in April, with a showhome expected to open this winter. The overall build programme is estimated to take approximately four years with the first homes set to be ready for occupation in November.

Avant Homes Central managing director, Chris Coley, said: “Awsworth is a highly sought-after and well-connected location and Bennerley View will support meeting the need for high-quality new homes in the area.

“We look forward to moving our plans forward with the commencement of groundworks at the site in April.”

Avant Homes Central currently has nine live developments ranging from Chesterfield to Mansfield with many more due to start as the business continues to implement its growth plans.

The Avant Homes Group currently operates across the Midlands, north of England and Scotland from eight regional operating businesses.

At present, the housebuilder employs more than 600 people with ambition to grow further across its existing regions and beyond, creating communities and providing employment opportunities for many.  Avant Homes Group has a medium-term strategic objective to sell more than 6,000 new homes per annum.
