The Government’s Build Back Better and Levelling Up agendas are the two main themes of UKREiiF’s second webinar discussion (tomorrow, 1.45-3.30pm).

In the run up to the main course – the three-day UKREiiF conference and networking in Leeds next May – the event’s organisers are laying on monthly online discussions, featuring some of the most prominent figures in the industry.

Gagan Mohindra MP, who chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group on Regeneration and Development, will be one four speakers at tomorrow’s offering (April 20).

Also appearing are Joanne Roney, chief executive of Manchester City Council, Paul Kelly, Development Director of the Scarborough Group, and Elizabeth Peckett, head of asset management for Allied London.

Following presentations by each speaker the agenda for the subsequent discussion will include:

  • Define the UK investment requirements for ensuring that ‘Build Back Better’ is delivered
  • Are we making progress regarding ‘levelling up’?
  • What does the UK require by way of inward investment over the next 10 years?
  • How do we attract inward investors to the UK; what is the formula?
  • Which sectors and regions are most attractive to inward investment and why?
  • What is the role of UK Government in supporting UK industry in attracting inward investment?
  • Which sectors and schemes (Real Estate and Infrastructure) are key to economic growth?
  • What does effective collaboration look like and how can we set the bar high enough for this to work effectively?
