Blackpool Council, alongside neighbours Wyre Council and Fylde Borough Council, has signed-up to exhibit at the inaugural UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) event, to be held in Leeds between 17-19 May 2022.

Leader of Blackpool Council Cllr Lynn Williams, explained:

“Blackpool is a place on the up. At Blackpool Council we have been working really hard, alongside private sector partners, to regenerate our town. Multimillion pound projects are already underway at Talbot Gateway, Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone and Blackpool Central. These headline projects are supported by a much wider investment programme taking place throughout the town including the development of new 3, 4 and 5 star hotels, improvements to the town’s retail district, a tramway extension connecting directly to Blackpool North train station, significant investment in our digital connectivity and a state-of-the-art conference and exhibition centre.

We are already delivering real benefits for Blackpool and we are keen to capitalise on the momentum we have, as there are plenty of opportunities for further investment and regeneration. Investment in our town to date is already boosting the local economy and providing much needed, long term, year round, skilled jobs for our local population. New employment opportunities, improved skills and training, supporting businesses and creating stronger, resilient communities is at the heart of everything we do.

“Exhibiting at UKREiiF, which will allow us to showcase our development opportunities to investors and support Blackpool in taking the next steps towards regeneration and prosperity, is something the Council is delighted to do.”

Mike Horner, Development Director at Muse Developments, Blackpool Council’s development partner for Talbot Gateway said:

“At Muse Developments we are very proud of the projects we have already delivered in Blackpool, but we believe there is so much more potential for regeneration across Blackpool and the rest of the Fylde Coast. We are delighted that the three Fylde Coast local authorities are working together to exhibit at UKREiiF, and we look forward to supporting Blackpool’s ambitions for further regeneration and investment in the months and years ahead.”

UKREiiF founder and driving force Keith Griffiths, added:

“Signing Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde Councils is a really big step forward for our ambition that UKREiiF is a forum which represents every nation and region of the UK, ensuring that places whose voices may not have been heard at other major property events finally have the chance to properly showcase their investment opportunities.

“UKREiiF is a 24/7, 365 days a year project that provides a new way for the real estate, investment and infrastructure sectors to work together – driving deals and supporting growth as we emerge from COVID in the months ahead. This vote of confidence from three forward thinking local authorities is one I, and the entire UKREiiF team, are proud to receive.”

Led by property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the first annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 17-19 May 2022. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
