The Leader of Carlisle City Council, Cllr John Mallinson, said: “Carlisle is a place on the up. With our recent bids for Town Deal and Future High Street funding, our city stands on the cusp of major regeneration. Taken alongside the ongoing work to develop and deliver the new, 10,000 home St Cuthbert’s Garden Village, there are real opportunities for growth and investment in Carlisle. We look forward to meeting domestic and international investors at UKREiiF next May.”

Jane Meek, Carlisle City Council’s Corporate Director of Economic Development at Carlisle City Council, explained: “I am absolutely thrilled that Carlisle is exhibiting at the UKREiiF event next year. With the signing of the Borderlands Inclusive Growth deal in March this year, the Carlisle economy is seeing almost unprecedented levels of investment, and it is my belief that attending and exhibiting at UKREiiF will help to unlock further investment for our city.”

Emma Porter, Managing Director at Story Contracting and Chair of Carlisle’s Town Deal Board, added: “Carlisle has a lot to offer and we hope that the investment and regeneration projects will drive forward positive change. We are a growing city and our Town Investment Plan is a blueprint for the next ten years and will drive forward Carlisle in the future. We need to promote the great opportunities Carlisle has to offer and events like the UKREiiF will showcase us to a global audience.”

UKREiiF founder and driving force Keith Griffiths, added:  “Carlisle City Council’s forward-thinking approach to securing investment is one that I’ve long been very impressed with. Their decision to get involved with UKREiiF is one I am delighted with, and one I am sure will be followed by many more private and public sector organisations in coming months.

“UKREiiF is a 24/7, 365 days a year project that provides a new way for the real estate, investment and infrastructure sectors to work together – driving deals and supporting growth as we emerge from COVID.”

Led by property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the first annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 17-19 May 2022. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
