The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) have announced the successful firms who’re set to work on their new £1.2bn Modular Building Framework ahead of their involvement in the Offsite Manufacture Conference this June.

The Modular Building Solutions Framework will offer the public sector with ‘a simple, low-cost way to address their modular building requirements’, which comes after the Government committed the driving the use of off-site and modern methods of construction to help tackle the need to deliver more housing across the UK. It comes after the recently-issued House of Lords report of ‘Off-Site Manufacturing For Construction; Building For Change’ highlighted the importance to Government and the wider UK growth strategy of offsite and modular.

The framework offers an alternative to traditionally built accommodation and public sector customers will be able to buy or lease modular buildings designed and fabricated to their particular specification through the framework.

The framework is split into 7 lots with the first four lots focusing on the education and healthcare sectors while lots 5 to 7 are for all other sectors inclusive on housing, defence, commercial and retail. [emaillocker id=”71749″]

The CCS will be sharing more inside information on the framework at the Offsite Manufacture Development Conference – where the Department for Education will also deliver a presentation on how offsite and MMC will feature in their desire to build more schools quicker.
