The warehouse specialist plans to build seven large-scale warehouses on an 111-acre site near Rugby (just off the M45) and this week was granted planning permission for the first two speculative units – 186,000 and 134,000 sqft. Both will be built to net zero carbon standards.

The plan for Symmetry Park near Rugby

Joseph Skinner, Associate Development Director at Tritax Symmetry, said: “Rugby is a highly desirable location for distribution and manufacturing companies and, with high quality stock at an all-time low, the intention is to speculatively develop the two consented buildings alongside the site wide infrastructure.

“We will be appointing a contractor in the coming months with construction due to commence this year which means the buildings will be ready to occupy in 2022.”

Situated on the important M45/A45 strategic highway link, Symmetry Park is located at the heart of the logistics ‘Golden Triangle’ network and is an established key distribution and manufacturing location. The site forms part of the wider South West Rugby Urban Extension which is due to provide up to 5,000 new homes.

The project team includes SGP Architects, Framptons acting as planning consultants and Tier Consult and Stantec as infrastructure specialists. Colliers International, Avison Young and M1 Agency have been appointed as marketing agents.
