Openreach have announced their involvement with the UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), which is set to take place between 16-18 May, in Leeds.

Openreach Limited is the UK’s national digital network business, employing 38,000 people to connect homes and businesses across the country. The Openraech network is the biggest in the UK, passing more than 31.8m premises and serving more than 690 communications providers like BT, SKY, TalkTalk, Vodafone and Zen.

Today Openreach are building an even faster, more reliable and future-proof broadband network, which will be the UK’s digital platform for decades to come. They aim to bring this £15bn ultrafast, Full Fibre network to 25 million premises by December 2026.

Openreach have confirmed that they will be attending the UKREiiF event, where they will have a spot in the exhibition hall and Matt Bateman, Director of Infrastructure Development at Openreach will take centre stage on Thursday, 18th May on the Tiltyard Stage for a session on ‘Creating Rural Powerhouses’ with representation from Milligan, EcoBos, Carlisle City Council, Gresham House and DEFRA.

Speaking of their involvement, Openreach’s Matt Bateman, said: “I’m delighted to be attending this year’s UKREiiF to be talking about unlocking the potential of the rural economy. The deployment of ultrafast digital broadband connectivity is pivotal to this – helping to unlock job opportunities for people otherwise left behind, transform our public services, unleashing innovations behind better education, healthier longer lives and more connected communities.

“At Openreach we’re excited to be making this vision a reality. We’re building more than anyone else in rural areas – bringing ultra-fast ultra-reliable Full Fibre broadband to more than 6 million homes and businesses in some of the hardest to reach parts of the country, as part of our 25 million target to fibre up the UK.”

Keith Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer and Founder at UKREiiF, said: “We’re so exited to partner with Openreach on the second annual UKREiiF event!

“We look forward to welcoming them to the UKREiiF exhibition hall where they can meet with delegates and host meetings to build their already substantial client list. Their representation during the high-level panel on the Tiltyard Stage will allow them to showcase Openreach’s exciting projects in rural places.”

Led by property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 16-18 May 2023. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
